Hey, there!
I’m Hannah, and I’m a 30-year-old mother of three amazing kids, wife to a supportive husband, operator of a thriving homestead winery and farm to table food service. Life is a whirlwind of activity, constantly juggling responsibilities and pursuing passions. Our life is unique. There is no doubt about that. In this space I will be sharing my homeschooling and homesteading experiences, thoughts, and lessons learned as we navigate our humbling life. Here you will find homeschool book and curriculum reviews, homesteading madness, stories and so much more. I am thrilled to introduce to you “Humble in a Jar”, where we’ll be eating a slice of humble pie together, always learning, ever growing, and hopefully persevering.

Q&A’s You Might Find Helpful

A little insight…

Here are some questions and answers that might help you gain a better understanding of this blog and what Humble in a Jar is all about.

Are you a faith based homeschooling family?

Absolutely. Our life in general is led by our faith, so it certainly plays a big role in our home.

Tell me more about your homeschooling approach.

For our family, we find that traditional homeschooling is best. Traditional homeschooling still gives us so much freedom, but we appreciate that with structure, our children thrive.

How do you have time to do all of this?

Ahh. The age-old question. It’s also a question I get asked a lot. There is not enough time in the day to do everything we want to do. I do believe that with a Christ centered life, our vision is less foggy, and it makes it easier to balance our lifestyle. But, of course, there is never ever enough time!

How do I learn more about homeschooling?

For questions regarding laws and regulations, refer to your school district. You can also find a ton of information on the HSLDA website. If you use social media, there are Facebook groups that I found to be incredibly helpful. However, google is also a great tool.
